Ignacio Youth Wrestling

Our Youth Program is designed to develop skills, character, discipline, and sportsmanship for future wrestling careers. With seasoned coaches dedicated to the life of the sport, we aim to establish a well-rounded program for the youth.

Ages

Any child with Birth Year 2020-2011

When

Our Season begins mid-February with Practices and goes through April 12th.

Where

All practices are held in the Ignacio High school wrestling room.

Use the Auxiliary Gym Entrance (to the north of the main office entrance.)

Mondays and Wednesdays


Divisions 1 and 2 (5:30-6:30)


Divisions 3, 4 & 5 (6:30-7:30)

Times can vary for individual tournaments but are usually very close to these times.

Equipment

Singlets are not required but recommended.

The club has singlets available to rent for a $30 refundable deposit.

You can also purchase your own online.

Wrestling Shoes are not required but recommended.

If you cannot get wrestling shoes, we ask you get some clean (indoor use only) shoes.

Local selection is very limited we suggest you order some ahead of time. Amazon has great and affordable options.

Tournament fee

Every tournament your child attends requires a $10 fee. This fee goes directly to the tournament director and is used for their expenses. (Due at weekly weigh Ins)

A: No, they can just participate in practices.


Q: Does my child have to attend all tournaments?

A: No, Tournaments are independent so you can pick and choose which one you want to attend.


Q: What should my child wear for practices?

A: Any active wear with wrestling shoes (or clean indoor shoes)
